March 2016

The Palm Beach Knights Newsletter

The Knights Table

Monthly Newsletter

 March 2016

Greetings from your President

March was a great month for all the Knights. Other than my getting very sick on my spring break!! I'm hoping to see more Knights turn out for rides and events. I know that life just keeps getting in the way, but I'd really like to see more participation. A big thank you to all the Knights that come out and make this club great!

Remember "it's more than just a ride"

Knights, as you can see by this newsletter, our "story" is sometimes told by the pictures that we take. I'd like to invite everyone to take photos of what we do...it makes for a good Tale(tail)!!

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM!! I'LL INCLUDE SOME NEWS ABOUT OUR CENTRAL FLORIDA CHAPTER!!

CORE Members,
We need Tailgunners, and Road Capt.'s
Please see Will .
Central Florida Chapter Knights...Please ask Neal about getting your PATCH !!

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE ORGANIZER AND OFFICERS WORK HARD TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A FUN SAFE RIDE.  WE WELCOME SUGGESTIONS.
I'M SURE THAT THEY WOULD LOVE TO HEAR ANY IDEAS FOR A FUTURE EVENT.
While we try to mix up our rides as much as possible, it's highly unlikely that I'm going to please everyone all the time. I hope everyone has been enjoying the rides that  have been on our schedule so far. I am always looking for feedback and new ideas.
Your participation is what makes this club great. We want to see YOU on the next ride!!!!!

 Force-E

Since 1976, South Florida has been the stopping ground for Force-E.

We treat our customers like we run our business, like family. With nerarly 40 years in the business, we could have gone in a different direction by putting dollars above all else, but that’s just our way. Our success is based on our love of snorkeling and diving, the ocean, conservation, education and community.

We have had a hand at shaping the South Florida dive community as it is now. We had in integral part in building the popularity of the Blue Heron Bridge, one of the most famous U.S. dive sites. In addition, we encourage our customers to be environmentally aware by hosting regular reef clean up, lionfish round ups, and educational seminars. And last, but not least, we like to party. Why is this so important? Well, diving is fun, and we should get together to celebrate it.

Congratulations to our Brother Boston Rich

on having a beautiful Granddaughter!! Ariana

We have been having some great rides  TIMES !!!!!!

Archies Seabreeze

Skip and I were join by 4 guest that rode up with us then went on to Daytona. Thank you Skip for the inrto and a great day. We took Indian River drive, but due to some National Emergency, we had to take a detour that took us through a swamp. We missed Vern....who came , but didn't let us know or we would have waited....Dammit

Skip Commagere said "The ride was fantastic. Got 4 of my friends to join us. Sorry we missed Vern but we didn't know he was coming. Dammit! Greg and his girlfriend are going to join our group.

Renaissance Festival

Well we had a great time at this festival!! Boston and Amber rode with me and we met up with some family and friends. There was even a sighting of Joel Havens who most of you haven't met. The weather was perfect and the people were great. Good food, lots of fun , lots of interesting vendors and acts.

Richard Boston said "It was a nice ride it was an absolutely beautiful day"

The weather didn't cooperate for our Everglades city ride, so plan B was implemented....we went to the gun show!! Thanks to Keith,Ric and Greenies for coming out. We had a great time and then went to have lunch.

I want to first say Thank you to Skip for helping out our Brother Squirrel with his tuck loading needs. I also want to say sorry I couldn't make it. Seems I had pneumonia and 103 temp...kind of took the wind out of me. We will all miss Rich and wish him the best of luck. Who knows, one day there may be a Smokies chapter.

Mexican/ Pool night

I was so looking forward to this! Unfortunately I was still out due to that same illness. I gave our brother Top Cat a call and had him fill in for me....Thanks TC!! Here is his report.

Well as I was asked to be acting host by Will as he acted sick we had a great time at Rosalita's. The food was great, everyone made good comments on their dishes.
Seriously we wish the best and get well soon to a few of our members stuck down by illness, and didn't make it.
Also attending was Buzzcap7 and lovely wife, lovely wife.

Afterwards Frank Cowan and I went out for a ride around town ending up in Delray at Johnnie Browns.
Until next time, keep the wind in your face and knuckles high.
Topcat

Mark "BuzzCap7" Said "I meant to add, Ric aka Topcat did an A1 job filling in for Will. GREAT WORK RIC!!

Ric welcomed us all with a big heart, great conversation, and it was all positive and pretty funny throughout the night!
I think we need a "do over". LOL!!! Except for the part when Frank drank too much and started to drop his pants. We could do without that.
When it was all over, Frank straddled one of those road construction orange and white plastic "Bobs Barricades" roadway barrels and tried to ride it home.
Ric and Janna were nice enough to toss Frank in their trunk and take him home safely.
Do over! Do over!

Central Florida Jaunt

This circular ride will take us over to the Spring Hill area near the Gulf Coast and back, riding thru small towns on scenic, back roads. We'll make a couple rest stops and have lunch along the way.
Class 2/3 ride; 150 miles awarded. This Meetup is scheduled at 9:00 AM, meeting at the 7-Eleven in Mt. Dora (corner of Eudora Rd.). Check 1 hour before Meetup time for any updates. We'll make introductions and have a pre-ride safety briefing highlighting the route we'll take, group riding tips, and hand signals.
Prospective members are encouraged to join us on a trial ride and experience for themselves the benefits of belonging to a group of like-minded folks, who like getting their knees in the wind.

Knights don't forget to check our site often!!! We have great rides coming up....See you all soon, and see our brother in Central Florida at Leesburg!!
