                            The Knights Table

                           January 2017

                                          Greetings from your  President/ Founder

               Will (Zev)

Greetings Knights!!  I am going to start to write our newsletter once again. I hope you all enjoy it and please let me know what you think.

Well it's that time of year where we spend some time looking  back on the past year. Some say that living in the past can be a dead end. Maybe they're right, but I believe it's all in what you choose to focus on. This past year for the Knights, like any year, was a mixed bag. While we did have some moments when drama or personal issues got in the way, they never stopped us. On the whole those negative moments made up a very minuscule percentage of our time. We have had members come and go, but our club remains to have a strong core! Some of our Brothers and sisters have experienced tragedy, health issues, and personal problems. Some still are overcoming these issues. We have been and will remain to be there for our fellow Knights.

I have the good fortune to have a more global perspective of our club and I can tell you that what I have witnessed was a group of individuals that come together to give each other support and love. Having been on the receiving end of that love and support, I know that it means a great deal. Perhaps I'm a bit nostalgic, but when I look back on this year, I see so many positive things that have happened. I choose to focus on the babies born, the members joining who have become family, and the friends that will remain until the end. I choose to focus on the beauty of the roads and sights we have shared. I choose to focus on the places we've been and the places we have yet to find. I choose to focus on the good feelings just being able to be around the Knights and to be able to watch them overcome adversities. I choose to focus on the many people we have interacted with on the  miles we have ridden together, and the memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

While  members have all different levels of commitment and involvement, I'm always happy to see everyone who chooses to come with us on our journeys. This year began with a ride to The Boat House restaurant and will end with a ride to he South Florida Fair Parade .  The coming year holds nothing but promises of good time and brotherhood. Every ride we go on together brings us closer as a club and as a family. I now will start looking to the future excitement that is 2019. The next year will be filled with adventure, friendship, love, support and real feeling that we belong to something meaningful.

I thank you all for some of the best parts of my life!
KNIGHTS FOREVER, FOREVER KNIGHTS.

your brother,
Will

Knights, as you can see by this newsletter, our "story" is sometimes told by the pictures that we take. I'd like to invite everyone to take photos of what we do...it makes for a good Tale(tail)!!

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE ORGANIZER AND OFFICERS WORK HARD TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A FUN SAFE RIDE.  WE WELCOME SUGGESTIONS.
I'M SURE THAT THEY WOULD LOVE TO HEAR ANY IDEAS FOR A FUTURE EVENT.
While we try to mix up our rides as much as possible, it's highly unlikely that we're going to please everyone all the time. I hope everyone has been enjoying the rides that  have been on our schedule so far. We're always looking for feedback and new ideas.

Your participation is what makes this club great. We
want to see YOU on the next ride!!!!!

We have been having some great rides  TIMES !!!!!!

The Edison & Ford Winter Estates Lab and Museum----The Boathouse

Well, we certainly planned on going to the Museum, but somehow we ended up at the Boathouse!
We want to thank the Management for accommodating us and letting us park out front....not that we would have moved. It was such a great day with perfect weather and great friends.

Congrats to "Upstate" on getting his Patch!

Conman scored some free string beans courtesy of our VP.

Pipes showing why he got the name!

Our VP Detroit striking his GQ pose.
"No Jeff you can't take the Rum home!"

Good to see such a good turn out.

A nice relaxing day.

Wednesday “Knight's” Bike Night Jan 9th

Detroit has been doing an outstanding job with the Knights bike nights. This one was at Benny's on the beach....well it was going to be until they turned into Asshole on the BEACH!! How do you turn away 15 people on a dead night because you're too lazy to do separate check??? The easy solution was we walked over to Mulligans ( those of us who stayed) and had a great time. They gave us our own section and treating us as Knights should be treated!! We took good care of the serving staff as we always did.. It was great to see Ric Shades back from up north. Hope we see him on lots of Knight rides.

Also great to have Mike and Cheryl back with us...we missed you guys.

We always enjoy these nights.

Crazy Fish Bar And Grill-Lake Wales

This ride was suggested by our Treasurer Arctic. Of course, he didn't make it, but we did try the Flashed fried Spinach he told us about. All I can say is that the fish and chip was excellent!! OY!  This is a  friendly and fun place. We had a nice talk with the owners and they were great people. As always Conman took us down the best back roads and we had a memorable time.

Bruce, we need to have a deep meaningful conversation about fried spinach"

Also, we want to congratulate Carl now our Brother " Butch" on getting his Patch.

Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Buffets

OK, so this is why we say we're an eating club with a riding problem. The ride to the Miccosukee Resort is kind of a straight shot out. Our main Road Capt. Conman couldn't make this one, so I lead it with Arctic's back up. It was a great turn out with a new member and a guest visit from Upstate's son. If you have never been to this Buffet, I promise it is worth the trip! We start with Prime Rib and then eat ourselves into a food coma......great time.

of course, we were at the head of the line!!

Wednesday “Knight's” Bike Night- Johnny Longboats

Another great turn out and night! Johnny Longboats is a great place that always is happy to see us and very accommodating. Pipes and I had a HOT DOG FROM HELL( or Heavan...)!! But boy was it good.

Heroes on Wheels- Bike Nite Parade-South Florida Fair

It was one of those rare freezing cold nights in South Florida, but 5 of us still made it. We met up at Dick's sporting goods and made our way over to the staging area. There we got to see all kinds of bikes, and bikers. The Parade, while short, was a lot of fun. It is always good to see how excited the kids get when we ride by. I'd say there were about 2-300 bikes. As always, we found fair food to make our night complete.
